On Thursday, May 9, the Lee County Library will welcome Dr. Katherine Sharp Landdeck to Tupelo as the speaker for the 2024 Helen Foster Lecture. Landdeck, a Professor of History at Texas Woman’s University, is a Normandy scholar and a Guggenheim Fellow at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and is the author of The Women with Silver Wings: The Inspiring True Story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II (Crown, 2021). Landdeck received her PhD from the University of Tennessee.
