-
We’ve been talking about Beanstack for a few years, and last year we had over 1,100 kids sign up for the program! That’s a lot of paper reading logs to keep up with! We’re hoping Beanstack will make things smoother for everyone!
-
We encourage everyone to use the Beanstack app to participate in the program. However, if using Beanstack is a total barrier to your participation, you can speak to a Youth Services staff member about other options!
-
Please refer to the Guide to Beanstack handout in your tote bag for assistance in signing up, or watch the recorded tutorials available here on the website. If you still need help, a Youth Services staff member will be happy to assist you!
-
Yes! Go to Beanstack.com and search for “Lee Itawamba Library” and login with your password, just like the app!
-
Unfortunately, the Week 1 badge redemption period expires after the end of Week 2. Badges are only earnable in the week they are named after, and they are redeemable in the library until the end of the following week. Because you missed the first two weeks, you cannot get a prize for your Week 1 badge. However, you can still get a prize for your Week 2 badge if you’ve earned it! It will be redeemable until the end of Week 3.
Beanstack General FAQs
Using Beanstack FAQs
-
Because many libraries and schools use Beanstack, you have to connect to the right one first. Select "Find your school or library" and then search for Lee Itawamba Library. After you select us, log in with your Beanstack username and password, or create an account if you don't have one already.
-
You can check whether you have an account a couple different ways. In the app, look up Lee Itawamba Library. That will take you to a sign-in screen for our service. Then use the Forgot Password? link with the email address you think you would have used to create an account. You can also contact the Library and a staff member will assist you.
-
In the app, tap the "gear" icon at the top right and then select Account. The main account holder will be listed. Tap on the name of that person, and then you can edit your password.
-
No, your account should still exist. If you need help obtaining your login information, give us a call at 662-841-9027 and we will look it up for you.
-
The “Discover” tab at the bottom right on the app has challenges for each age group (depending on which reader account you are currently on), activities for each age group, and events that are happening at the Lee County Library. Scroll through the events to see what programs we’re offering this summer! (To make it easier for adults to see all programs at once, age listings are 0-99 for every program. Please check the program descriptions to see what age group the program is actually for!
-
Of course! You can set up as many profiles as you like, for readers of any age. And if your family is reading the same book together, you can credit that reading time to multiple children's accounts with a single click—no need to log it in separately for each of your avid listeners.
-
Tap the little gear next to your inititals at the top right of your screen. This is the settings tab. Tap “Readers” and you will see the option to “Add a Reader”
-
At the top right there is a circle with either the initials of you or one of your readers, or a profile picture if you've added one. Tap the circle to get to a list of all your readers.
-
It's so easy! Tap the big plus sign on the bottom menu, and select Reading. You can simply scan the ISBN barcode on the back of your book using your phone, or type in the title of the book, or choose “Log Without a Title” if you just want to do the basics. Log reading for the day, or backdate a day or two if you forgot to log those days. Boom, you're done! Seriously, the Beanstack mobile app makes it that easy. If you want to get fancy, you can also enter the number of pages, minutes, or books that you read.
-
No! You just have to give us your phone number so we can look up your account. You do not have to show us proof that you’ve gotten your badge – we can see it in our system once we look you up! (This means the parent/guardian who manages the Beanstack account for the family does not have to be the one who comes in with your children to redeem their badges and get their prizes. We just need an adult who knows the phone number so we can look up their account. Alternatively, we can look up by name, but phone numbers are more accurate and faster!)
-
To count for our reading program, you have to log how many days you read each week (the minimum amount is 5!). How long you choose to read each day is up to you! Beanstack gives you the option to log books, minutes, or pages while also logging days. You can do this if you wish to have a record for yourself!
-
You can log without a title if that’s easiest for you! You aren’t required to put a title in when you log your reading days.
-
Yes! Tap the blue circle at the bottom like you would to log your reading for today. It will give you the option to backdate what day the reading will count for. You can tap the previous day on the calendar and it will log the reading for yesterday (or further, if you need to backdate more!)
