Teen Tuesday: Summer Volunteer Meeting

  • Lee County Library 219 North Madison Street Tupelo, MS, 38804 United States (map)

Summer Reading is a VERY BUSY time here at the library, and we would love to have your help! Fill out our volunteer form below and we will be in touch shortly! The Lee County Library’s Summer Reading Program is a dynamic, innovative, and exciting program offered to children and teens in June and July to encourage a love of reading and learning outside of school hours. For the past three years, over 2,000 people have attended our programs, so we need a lot of help to make these programs successful!

Volunteers are asked to work at least 15 hours over the course of the summer. Expected duties include prepping craft materials and games for programs, helping set up before and clean up after programs, running an assigned “station” during a program, checking reading logs and handing out prizes, answering simple questions from patrons about a program or directing questions to a staff member, and straightening/tidying up the Youth Services Department.
